Comprehensive Psychological Testing in Plainfield, IL

An accurate diagnosis is the foundation of effective care. Our Psychological Assessments help identify the right diagnosis and shape a treatment plan built around your individual needs. Each assessment is conducted by one of our licensed clinical psychologists.

Most medical insurance policies include mental health benefits that may cover all or part of a psychological assessment, provided it is deemed medically necessary by your insurance provider. Prior to scheduling your first appointment, our staff contacts your insurance company to verify your mental health coverage. We also strongly recommend that you independently confirm your benefits related to psychotherapy directly with your insurer. Following this verification, our staff contacts you to outline your psychological assessment benefits, if applicable, including an estimate of your projected out-of-pocket costs. Please note that a more precise cost estimate will only be available after your initial appointment with the Licensed Clinical Psychologist, as the specific psychological tests required, if any, will be determined at that time.

A Two-Part Process

Assessment combines two components: a clinical interview and, when needed, psychological testing in Plainfield, IL.

Your Initial Session

The first session gathers the information needed to guide the process. During this session, we cover the following:
  • Conduct a clinical interview with you and, when appropriate, your family members.
  • Determine which psychological tests or procedures, if any, are necessary.
  • Explain each step of the assessment.
  • Answer any questions you may have.
For many people, the interview provides enough insight to reach a clear diagnosis.

When Testing Is Needed

In more complex situations, history and interview information may not point to a clear conclusion. Psychological testing then helps confirm the presence or absence of common conditions, including:
  • Depression
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Anxiety
  • Schizophrenia
  • Substance abuse
  • Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • Learning disabilities
  • Dementia and memory problems

What We Evaluate

Our psychological testing examines your personality traits, intellectual and cognitive abilities, and emotional capacity, giving you a clear and complete picture of your mental health.
